Opus - This Damn Feeling
This is the animation I did for White Peach's10th Birthday which was a great honour. I was given all of the release artworks since the start and asked to create an animation out of it - with no context. It was a 'do your thing' job.
So similarly to what I've done before, I animated a black and white displacement layer with the music provided which I used to distort a 3D mesh which reacts in time with the music. I then added all of the artwork into a composition in After Effects to play for a short period before switching to the next. I then added this mp4 as an image sequence onto the artwork part of the vinyl. I also used this animation as a HDRI so it influenced the lighting affecting the colours and bounce light onto the vinyl.

This is the most recent work I have done for White Peach for the release of NAAN001.
A little insight to how I achieved the animation. I cut out all of the pieces from the artwork which was supplied in photoshop and pulled them into Blender. From there I gave each of the seperate images geometry and gave them cloth physics with collision and self collision. I applied a force to the ground plane to equal gravity so they float. I added some more force fields including on one of the pieces of paper so the rest of the pieces followed them.

The animation below was done in a similar way and was I think my first job with White Peach. This time the pieces were pinned to their corners and displaced with a black and white movie file underneath which i created in after effects. Over time I revoed parts of the pin group to get the pieces to eventually become free and fly into the air.
