This project is for a local lyricist called Illicit who I actually went to school with. He's been doing this for as long as I've know him and to make a music video for him was a pleasure. He initially asked me to just do a lyric video. After a little time playing with it I decided I could make something a lot more interesting with a camera and some simple editing. So I set up a studio space in my living room with a black sheet on a rail, a softbox light and my Panasonic G7 on a tripod with my stock lens.
Once the space was set up, I asked Illicit to repeat the song about 4 or 5 times, each time adjusting the focal length of the camera, the lighting and the rotation of the subject. This gave me the shots I needed to put together a more appealing music video than the standard lyric video you see all the time.
I think the results speak for themselves and I hope you enjoy the video and his music.
